Programs and Services

ausEE Inc. provides valuable information relevant to eosinophilic diseases to individuals, families and health professionals. We strive to improve the quality of life for all people with eosinophilic diseases. Our programs and services include: Support - Online support is available through our facebook group forums, we host virtual support group chats through Zoom and we can coordinate face-to-face support group meetings hosted in your local area.
Information and Education - We are aiming to have our 'Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases' information brochure and patient resources available at all gastroenterology clinics and hospitals in Australia. We are well on our way to achieving this goal. Please help us by taking a copy to your doctor, medical specialists and treating hospital. They can be ordered online here. Please let your medical team know about ausEE so they can advise other patients that support is available.
Knitted Dolls - We donate hand knitted ausEE dolls to gastroenterology clinics in hospitals to be given to kids undergoing endoscopies or surgery for an EGID/EoE. If you are a hospital/clinic wanting to order knitted dolls to distribute to your patients please complete our resources order form.
Children's Books - Thanks to being awarded grant funding we have published three children’s picture books about living with an eosinophilic disease. The first 'Meet Arabella' follows the diagnosis journey and the second 'Being Henry' is about living with EoE. Our third book 'Olivia and Kate' is about the siblings of Arabella and Henry. These books were written by ausEE's Sarah Gray and Mercedez Hinchcliff and are based on their children. All books are available for purchase from our online store. ausEE thanks Peter Carnavas for illustrating our books.
Medical Research - We are funding and supporting medical research and clinical trials for eosinophilic diseases - your support can help us to find a cure! See our Research Projects page for information on our research grants.
Treatment Improvements - We undertake investigation and where appropriate take action to try to have products, which will be of benefit to patients, be made available in Australia and included on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). Advocacy - ausEE advocates for people with eosinophilic diseases through a variety of ways including working on global projects that have resulted in publications; Improving Care in Eosinophil-Associated Diseases: A Charter and EoE Knowledge Exchange Summary Report. Conferences - Each year ausEE attends and exhibits at relevant medical conferences to distribute our free patient resources and to raise awareness for eosinophilic diseases and our support services to the health professionals in attendance. Highlights include the annual conference of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) and GESA's annual meeting, Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW).
Fundraising and Top 8 Challenge - ausEE Inc. is a charity that receives no government funding and relies on our fundraising and the generosity of our supporters to help us achieve our mission. You can find out about fundraising programs you can support us through here. Our major fundraising campaign is our Top 8 Challenge Day, held every year during National Eosinophilic Week on 8 August! Please visit our Top 8 Challenge website for more information on our fundraising appeal, which aims to bring awareness to these diseases and raise vital funds for ausEE's medical research grants.
Additional Resources - Our Australian Allergy Friendly Finds pages on Facebook and Instagram are our dedicated place to share our favourite recipes and allergy friendly finds to help you in living with an EGID and allergies. If you have discovered a great allergy friendly food, place, product or recipe that has helped you and might in-turn help others please share it with us! We proudly don't accept or host any paid advertisements - we freely post to help others find allergy friendly products! Media - We outreach to television, newspaper and online media to bring awareness to eosinophilic diseases and ausEE, so those who are living with an eosinophilic disease will know support is available and for anyone who may be experiencing symptoms without a diagnosis may get the information they need to be able to talk to their doctor. If you are willing to share your story with the Media please contact us. Awareness - Our National Eosinophilic Week is held in August each year - to find out more about this year's awareness week click here. Together with our international patient advocacy group partners we celebrate World Eosinophilic Diseases Day on the 18 May and World Eosinophilic Esophagitis Day on 22 May. We also promote Australasia's Feeding Tube Awareness Week each year in February. Visit here for more information. We advocate to raise awareness for eosinophilic diseases and more community understanding of what it is like to live with multiple food allergies - check out our campaign on facebook Allergy Free Cooking on TV.
